What the calculation counts
The first care payment occurs on your chosen start date. Calendar-month payments retain that day where possible, clamping to the month’s last day when necessary. A 28-day plan repeats every 28 days. A prepaid plan charges the entire block each time it renews. We count payment dates before the end date, excluding a renewal exactly on that date.
Cash paid and obligation are different
The comparison assumes uninterrupted enrollment for the selected window. Minimum care obligation uses the term and unit you entered. Billing cycles count that many full payments; the default one cycle is one payment, including for a 28-day plan. Calendar months count all full care payments needed to cover that period, including a prepaid block that extends beyond it. Care still due after the window identifies additional care charges needed to reach that minimum; it is not a cancellation penalty calculation or refund estimate. Medicine and extras are separate calendar-month estimates and may add obligations of their own.
Why the dates matter
Twelve 28-day cycles span 336 days. A one-year comparison can therefore contain more than twelve care charge dates, depending on its start and end. Sesame’s official FAQ specifies every-28-day billing for its advertised monthly option. Do not enter a monthly equivalent for a prepaid purchase when the full block is charged upfront.
Assumptions and privacy
This model excludes promotions, interest, taxes not entered as extras, price changes, refunds and cancellation exceptions. Medication and extras are assumed payable monthly starting today. All calculations stay in this page; entries are not stored or submitted by the tool and are not sent to analytics. Use written terms for a final decision.
